Near Viola, Latah Co, ID on 21 Oct, along Four Mile Road were several fun
birds, including 2 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES 0.75 mile east of US 95, a
single AMERICAN TREE SPARROW in some brush about 2 miles east of US 95, and
a MERLIN according to Matthew Moskwik mpmoskwik at hotmail.com ID DeLorme 58,
B-1.

On Hayden Lake, Kootenai Co, ID on 21 Oct was a juv THAYER'S GULL and a
female SURF SCOTER according to Stephen Lindsay slindsay at dmi.net. Hayden
Lake is just north of Coeur d'Alene and east of US 95. The lake can be
accessed by turning east at US 95 milepost 434.3 onto Honeysuckle and
following it to Lower Hayden Lake Road. ID DeLorme 60, AB-2 and a Birder's
Guide to Idaho p 43. Steve spied a juv SURF SCOTER at Wolf Lodge Bay on Lake
Coeur d'Alene that day as well. Wolf Lodge Bay can be accessed from I-90
exit 22 which is also the exit for ID 97. ID DeLorme 60, B-2.

Moscow, Latah Co, ID still has a BLUE JAY lurking about. This past week it
was heard along Homestead Street in the northeast part of town according to
Dale Goble. This area has been a traditional wintering spot.
