There are two Blue Jays in Yakima County now. One is at a house between
Sunnyside and Grandview and the other is at Gaylord Mink's place in Prosser.
This is the first time there have been two at the same time in Yakima County.

Here is an e-mail that Kerry Turley sent to BirdYak this afternoon:

I ventured out in the rain today to check on the reported BLUE JAY
and was successful, I sat in the car out of the rain and watched as
a BLUE JAY collected acorns and generally acted very Blue Jayish (is
that a word?), the distance was about 20 feet and the bird was not
shy. It first showed up after the wind storm last week and may stay
around as long as the acorns last. Good county bird for all you listers!

>From Sunnyside go South (toward Grandview) on Hwy 12 turn East
(left) on Alexander Rd. Go 1.6 miles cross Puterbaugh Rd. to 1st
house on right. Go up drive between the grapes to red barn and wood
shed (about 50 ft.). BLUE JAY hangs around in the tree and is
feeding on acorns in the old flatbed truck. George Graf is usually home
after 2:00 PM, there is a large German Shepherd to watch for so you
may want to call ahead at 882-2616.

Gaylord posted the news of his Blue Jay earlier today on Tweeters.

It is possible that it is the same Blue Jay since the locations are only
about seven miles apart.
