Late this afternoon when I got home there were two male Pileated
Woodpeckers working several snags in my yard. One was an adult (yellow
iris), and the other a juvenile (dark iris). I found this unusual, in
that I had thought that Pileated familys split up in August. These two
birds were obviously staying together.
