...........In my last report of this last weekend's escapades through the
Deer Refuge at Cathlamet, Wash--north side of Columbia River, I failed
to mention that the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife has scooped out a number
of areas(mainly near the road by the Columbia River, and.... by the
slough road on north side of refuge) and is pumping in water to make
some really nice new large wetlands. This should vastly improve
waterfowl and shorebird viewing opportunities in this area.
..........Some of these new wetland areas can be seen from Wash Hgw. 4.
