Spent another day hiking at Mt. Rainier. The hike was Eagle Peak Saddle out
of Longmire. Elevation gain was 2955 feet and about five hours was spent on
the trails. There was not a lot of birding to be done but the following was
noted.

2-Hairy Woodpeckers
1-Female, Western Tanager
8-Mountain Chickadees
5-Chestnut-back Chickadees
2-Varied Thrush
1-Winter Wren
1-Common Raven

PS I'm interested in seeing some owls. I live in Parkland. Can anyone tell me
where to go to do some"owling." Specifics would be nice! As a serious birder
for only one year, I haven't seen to many owls but I'm fascinated in them.
Thanks much!
