This is Kas Dumroese with the Northern Idaho / Eastern Washington /
Northeastern Oregon bird hotline for Friday, Sep 7 (2001). This hotline,

A juv LAUGHING GULL was on the muddy shore at the muddy shore line at the
south end of Wenatchee Confluence State Park. Wenatchee, Chelan CO, WA.on
Sep 4 according to Dave Beaudette drtbrdr at earthlink.net . This part of the
park can be viewed from the Loop Trail at Walla Walla Point Park. To get to
Walla Walla Point Park. . . starting at Wenatchee Avenue head east on Hawley
St, then on Miller St, then on Walla Walla Ave. After entering the park take
the left fork to the ballfield parking. Get on the paved loop trail that
runs along the river. Best viewing was done from the trail adjacent to
ballfield #4 where you can inspect the shoreline to the north. Five to six
GREAT EGRETS are persisting at Wenatchee Confluence State Park, Chelan
County, WA according to David Beudette drtbrdr at earthlink.net . From US 2 at
Wenatchee, eastbound or westbound, follow signs to the State Park.

A RED KNOT was on the Yakima River Delta near Richland, Benton Co WA, on Sep
4 according to Bill and Nancy LaFramboise wlafra at owt.com . Other shorebirds
included a few LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 1 juv SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, and a
SEMIPALMATED PLOVER.

Two PINE GROSBEAKS were in Baker Co, OR on Sep 3 accroding to Trent Bray
arkaeoptrx at aol.com and Mariah Rose. The birds were along Hoffer Lakes Trail
(Trail #1614) in the Anthony Lakes area about 0.5 mile from both the Union
and Grant county borders. OR DeLorme 86, D-4.

Somewhat unusual was a flock of 16 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS flying over the
Snake River in Clarkston, Asotin Co WA on Sep 3 according to Keith Carlson
