Just about time to start thinking about this years BIG SIT.

Last year we had 4 different groups sitting in our state.

This year the Big Sit will be held on October 14, 2001. My team "Rain
Tree Crow" will be setting up a Big Sit area at Spencer Island again.
Last year the weather was great and I ended up with 36 species from my
"sit circle". I know I could have improved on that substantially if I
had some more help at any skill level. My skills are somewhat, well
OK......, very limited. I don't bird by ear, can't identify birds in
flight, and I'm extremely sorry with Shorebirds. So anyone who wishes to
stop by during the day and help, just cross over the bridge onto the
island and go right (south) on the main trail, I'll be on the left side
of the trail, just south of the trail that cuts across the island and
just before the wooden bridge. you can't miss me. I'll be the foolish
looking guy with the lawn chair! I'll be setting up just before dawn.
So stop by for a minute, an hour or whatever.( If you come early and see
all the guys with shotguns don't worry, it will be hunting season and
they are restricted to the north end of Spencer Island).

This is for a good cause and there is a $500.00 prize if we see the
"golden bird"
(see rules for explanation) which we will be donating to the Pilchuck
Audubon if we win.
