Today, Sat, Sept 8 there were lots of migrants at Wastucna (east of
Othello), Adams Co.
Best was a LEAST FLYCATCHER found by another Birder (who were you?)
and confirmed by us (with photos). Also 1 OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER, over 300
WILSON'S WARBLERS!, 4 TOWNSEND'S, 40 ORANGE-CR, 50 YELLOW-RUMPED,
1 MACGILLIVRAY'S, & 5 YELLOW WARBLERS. Plus 3 HAMMOND'S & 2 "WESTERN"
FLYCATCHERS. Also 1 HERMIT THRUSH, 4 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES, 2 WESTERN
TANAGERS, 10 WARBLING & 5 CASSIN'S VIREOS, 3 GOLDEN-CR KINGLETS, many
RUBY-CR KINGLETS, WHITE-CR SPARROWS & JUNCOS. The Least was in Basset Park,
NW of the restroom, (toward the swimming pool). We thought it to be an
adult. At the sewage pond, south of town near the dump, were 4 BAIRD'S & 2
WESTERN SANDPIPERS.

Back west at Hatton rest area were 1 FOX "Slate" SPARROW, 1 LINCOLN'S
SPARROW, 1 TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE, 1 migrant SPOTTED TOWHEE, & more WILSON'S
WARBLERS. Also about 10 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS.

On to Othello's Para Ponds to see 12 PECTORAL & 20 WESTERN SANDPIPERS.
Finally a late COMMON NIGHTHAWK was in Othello. No Kingbirds seen.
