Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday September 13. If you have anything to add call

A dark rumped Storm-Petrel was seen September 8 from the South Jetty of
the Columbia River. A RUFF and a STILT SANDPIPER were seen during the
week at Fenk Road west of Tillamook. A RUFF was at Bandon September 9-12.

A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was heard September 6 at Island Park in
Springfield.

A CANADA WARBLER was at Malheur NWR Headquarters September 8. On
September 12 a CAPE MAY WARBLER and a BAY-BREASTED WARBLER were at
Headquarters.

There were reports of MERLIN and good sized flocks of PECTORAL SANDPIPERS
during the week. A BOBOLINK was at Lone Ranch State Park in Curry County
September 9. A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW and a MOCKINGBIRD were at Brookings
September 10. Another MOCKINGBIRD was at Winchester Bay that day.

The September 8 offshsore boat trip out of Newport found rough water but
did see 14 POMARINE JAEGERS and a SKUA. A RED-SHOULDERED HAWK was at
Eckman Lake near Waldport September 6. A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was netted
and banded at Seaside September 9. A ROCK WREN was at Coxcomb Hill in
Astoria September 10, and an early GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was there
September 12.

On September 11 about 500 SANDHILL CRANES were at Coon Point on Sauvie
Island. A group of 5 "STERNA" TERNS were flying over the Sellwood Bridge
in Portland September 7. A FERRUGINOUS HAWK was at Finley NWR September
6. The Eugene Airport FERRUGINOUS HAWK continues to be seen. On September
8 a SABINE'S GULL was at Fern Ridge Reservoir.

A SABINE'S GULL was at the LaGrande Sewage Ponds September 12. A
SANDERLING was at Cold Springs NWR near Hermiston September 11. A
RED-NECKED GREBE was on the Redmond Sewage Ponds September 6. A GRAY
CATBIRD has been at the Tumalo Reservoir west of Bend during the week.
Two RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS were at Sparks Lake near Mount Bachelor
September 11.
