A single WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, PEREGRINE FALCON, SANDERLING, and 8 COMMON
TERNS were the best birds at Mann Lake, east of Lewiston, Nez Perce Co, ID
on 8 Sep according to Keith Carlson, Jane Westervelt, Ashley Martin, and
myself. Later in the week Keith added 2 SANDHILL CRANES. From the north end
of Lewiston, follow US 12 south into town, cross the Clearwater River on
Memorial Bridge and immediately take the first left (east) toward East
Lewiston. Turn left (east) onto East Main Street and go about a half mile to
the flashing yellow lights. Turn right (south) onto Lapwai (a.k.a. Lindsay
Creek) Road. When the road forks stay right on Lindsay Creek Road (Nez Perce
County Road 460) and follow it about 5 miles to its terminus at Grelle
Avenue. Turn left (east) onto Grelle Avenue and just past the sharp right
curve, turn left (east) onto East Powers Avenue (a.k.a. Lapwai Road).

pool. WA DeLorme 55, BC-6.

An adult HARRIS'S HAWK was soaring just northeast of Moscow, Latah Co, ID on
9 Sep according to Dave Holick daveholick at moscow.com. It was in the vicinity
of Robinson Park Road and Syringa Trailer Park. The assumption is that this
is the Lewiston bird from earlier this summer. Also in this area is a very
white RED-TAILED, KRIDER'S-like HAWK according to Dave. He has observed it
on the power poles along Olson Road which is a 0.25-mile-long road between
Robinson Park Road and Darby Road, just east of Syringa Trailer Court. It
would be nice for some other birders could comment on it.

Nine AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS were on the Snake River just west of Clarkston,
Asotin Co WA on 8 Sep according to Al Winter ajwinter at clarkston.com.

A single GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was in my yard on 12 Sep, 5 miles south of
