I apologize for the lateness of this report. I was at Ocean Shores without access to a computer and without the WOS birdbox telephone number.. Nevertheless, I feel a few things worth reporting anyway. On Sept. 7 in the evening, there were 3 Buff-breasted sandpipers at the base of Damon Point. On Sept. 8, there was one Sharp-tailed sandpiper in the grass at the west end of the Damon Point pond. It was rather tame and my son and I watched it forage for several minutes. On Sept. 9, we saw a flock of 35 White-fronted geese fly over the east end of the game range. Also on Sept. 9, we found a Wandering tattler on the remains of the jetty rocks along the bay at the east end of the game range, a new location for this species for me. On Sept. 10, we found one American golden plover and one Pacific golden plover together at Midway Beach, but no Snowies.
The goldens were identified not only by coloration but also by primary extension. Again on Sept. 10, we saw the Bar-tailed godwit with about 200 Marbled godwits and 5 Whimbrels at the Tokeland marina. That's about all that I consider significant.
