Saturday spent most of the day on Chelan Ridge looking for hawks. The past
week 5 different Broad-winged Hawks had been counted, but none on Saturday.
Before we had arrived they had a Golden Eagle and a family of Chukar. We
saw all 3 accipiters (lots of Sharp-shinned, a few Cooper's and 2 Goshawks),
1 Merlin, 1 Kestrel, 3 Northern Harriers, an imm. Red-tailed Hawk,
Townsend's Solitaires, and 1 Canyon Wren.

On my way home I stopped by the Wenatchee River mouth and located 1 Great
Egret, 1 Yellow-headed Blackbird, and 2 imm. Black-crowned Night-Herons.

Sunday I birded Blaine Marine Park right before high tide. The Bar-tailed
Godwit and 2 Marbled Godwits were present along with fleeting glimpses of
the Ruddy Turnstone calling and flying overhead and a Red Knot which was
mixed in with the Short-billed Dowitchers and Black-bellied Plovers. There
were many Common Loons out in the bay.
