A good day for birds not typically seen in Puget Sound. The highlights:

1 red knot at Crockett Lake
1 marbled godwit at Crockett Lake
10 parasitic jaegers between Keystone and Port Townsend
1 lapland longspur at Crockett Lake
2 great egrets on the shoreline at W-90.
1 american kestrel at Fir Island.
11 pectoral sandpipers on Fir Island.

Total species seen: 106.

There was a small passage of American pipits down Whidbey Island all day.
Very few shorebirds around. Only 250 western sandpipers at Crockett Lake.
Good numbers of peregrines around, 1 at Crockett Lake, 3 at Fir Island -
included two 'tundra' race birds.
Still quite a few swallows around - 220 violet-green swallow and 20+
barn swallows north of Cultis Bay.
