Today I birded Skagit County.

West 90-9:30AM to 2:30PM
Ponds 1-3 were dried up but pond #4 still had a few puddles. It was enough
to attract:
LEAST SANDPIPER-1
WESTERN SANDPIPER-1
AMERICAN PIPIT-1
PECTORAL SANDPIPER-4

I climbed the dike so I could watch the shore as well as keep an eye on the
last remaining pond with water. Not much appeared on the pond, but from the
dike at low tide I saw:
MERLIN-1
LEAST SANDPIPER
WESTERN SANDPIPER
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER
GREATER YELLOWLEGS-1
RED KNOT-1
PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER-at least 1
DUNLIN-2
PECTORAL SANDPIPER-1
AMERICAN PIPIT-20 or more
GREAT BLUE HERON- too many to count
GREAT EGRET-1 It flushed from the ditch below the dike north of the ponds
and flew east.

Farm Pond at Skagit City and Thomas Rds
NOT ONE BIRD!

Jensen Access-4:30-6:30PM
WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE-72
SNOW GOOSE-25
GREATER YELLOWLEGS-6
PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER-5 These birds were in the field east of the drive for
at least 2 hours. Then they flew across the road to the dirt field not far
away. Maybe they'll stay around for a few days.
SEMI-PALMATED PLOVER-6
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER-12
