Pretty decent fall of migrants along the coast particularly on Damon
point. Today's highlights:

95 sandhill cranes at Bowerman Basin.
11 american pipits at Hoquiam STP
31 greater white-fronted geese at Gray Gables, 3 miles west of Bowerman
5 greater white-fronted geese at Ocean Shores STP.
61 golden-crowned kinglets at Damon Point.
2 palm warblers at Damon Point
1 yellow-shafted (intermediate) common flicker at Damon Point.
180+ american pipits - 140 at Damon Point, 40 in the Game Range.
22 pectoral sandpipers - 1 on Damon Point, 1 at Ocean Shores STP, the
rest in the game range.
15 lapland longspurs - 1 on Damon Point, the rest in the game range
1 mourning dove along Brady Loop.

All the kinglets were found in the broom and conifers near the top of
the point, The majority of the pipits were feeding on insects along the
tide line of the north side of the point. The first palm warbler was
found in a flock of pipits at the tip of the point. The second palm
warbler was in a conifer tree near the side of the road opposite the
main pond - now completely tidal.

There was also a large number of shorebirds flying south towards
Westport - since it was close to high tide some bird may simply have
been moving to the south side of Grays Harbor - particularly since the
high tide and relatively warm day would result in all the main roosts
being disturbed by people. However a lot of birds were flying quite high
and may have been birds arriving from further north.
