Thursday September 27, 2001 8:53 p,m. Hi, Tom Aversa, 206-782-7342 reporting on a trip
today up north Skagit County with Steve Gerstle. Main highlights were from Fir Island. At the
Game Range, there was a juvenile RED-SHOULDERED HAWK soaring. Also, we had a
WESTERN TANAGER, PACIFIC SLOPE FLYCATCHER, and a couple of WHITE-
THROATED SPARROWS there. At the Jensen Access, there were 11 adult SNOW GEESE,
a BAIRD'S SANDPIPER. In the field next to the Jensen Access were 15 juvenile
SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS and seven GOLDEN PLOVERS, at least five of which were
definitely AMERICAN. They were probably all AMERICAN. And those are the main
highlights. Thank you.


Thursday, September 27, 2001, 7:43 p.m. This is Vic Nelson. Today at Point No Point at the
northeast tip of the Kitsap Peninsula, the LITTLE GULL that is the juvenile molting into first
winter plumage was present this morning along with several hundred BONAPARTE GULLS.
And there are also three or four PARASITIC JAEGERS in the area. Thank You.
