Greetings All

I spent the weekend zipping around Grant, Adams, and Franklin Counties. The
most unusual birds were-
an adult Sabine's Gull at the Perch Point access to Potholes Res. and a Least
Flycatcher at Hooper (the latter bird was studied for 15 min in glorious
lighting conditions by myself, Bob Flores, and Randy Hill). The whole weekend
was glorious - sunny, warm, windless, and birdy.

The most interesting aspect of the weekend was the number of species that
were somewhat late for the eastside, or the state as a whole.

Black-necked Stilt - Othello
American Avocet (4)- Lind Coulee
Semipalmated Sandpiper (2)- Othello
Willow Flycatcher- Washtucna
Hammond's Flycatcher- Washtucna
Cassin's Vireo- Washtucna
House Wren (3)- Washtucna and Lyons Ferry
Gray Catbird- Lyons Ferry
Yellow Warbler- Leavenworth
Wilson's Warbler (4)- Washtucna and Lyons Ferry

Individually, perhaps, these records are not extremely interesting, but
together they paint a nice picture of a late wave of migrants that is
probably a somewhat unusual.

Also, uncommon to rare for the Columbia Basin
Slate-colored Fox Sparrow - Washtucna
Winter Wren- Lyons Ferry.
