I have an Osprey Nest just a few blocks away from my house. I was a bit concerned because I haven't seen them near the nest yet this year, until today. They have been hanging around the area , though, for the last 3-4 weeks or so. But today I was driving by and noticed one near the nest, finally. I can rest at ease now.
I have alot of wetland habitat around this area, and we usually get American Bitterns every year. I haven't seen (or heard) them yet but the water levels are really high and there is really no shallows for them. One year I remember seeing 5 at one time. Unfortunately I wasn't into birding yet so I didn't record it. But I will be ready for them this year with notebook and camera in hand.
