Deception Pass rip tides seem to be the best spot in the state to find
Red-throated Loons--always there. Not far away in Hunter Bay off Lopez
Island is another good spot where they are commonly found.

Perhaps they feed in Deception Pass and rest in Hunter Bay. Or maybe they
just like both places. Hard to say which.

Another place I always find Red-throated Loons is Altoona, Wahkiakum Co. I
think a few of this group must occasionally move up the Columbia River. I
have seen them several times in Skamania Co. and once in Klickitat Co.
