Turkey vultures, those airborne TV's, are sifting back into the state and
April should see the big push, i.e. some larger flocks. There are already
numbers on Vancouver Island and small flocks have been staging on the north
Olympic coast. Don't forget to look up!!

Turkey vultures reported for March 2002 from Washington, British Columbia,
and Oregon:

02 1 working the airfield near Eastsound on Orcas Island; 2 flying west
near Morse Creek, just east of Port Angeles
03 2 flying west over Port Angeles
04 1 over Bonney Lake
05 1 at the Campbell River Airport, B.C.
12 5 soaring high near Brownsmead, Oregon
15 4 wheeling northwest over McDonell Creek; 5 flying northward over
Joseph Whidbey State Park, later 1 more near the beach; 6 over Cape George,
Port Townsend; 4 near Centralia; 5 at the Julia Butler Hansen Refuge; one
at Skamokawa; 1 just east of Home Valley, Skamania County
16 1 north of Sequim
17 1 over I-90 at the 25-mile marker; 6 near Wagner Road, 2 near Meadows
Road (?); 1 at Meadows Road; 2 from Manners Road; 1 from Marble Street; 6
from Lincoln Creek Road; 9 at Scatter Creek; 2 at Mima Mounds; 5 on Puget
Island; 5 near Legacy Marsh, Lantzville, B.C.; 1 at Colwood, B.C.
