Today I saw a "Yellow-shafted" Northern Flicker in Discovery Pk., feeding
on the meadow just w. of the park visitor ctr. With it was a [possible]
hybrid flicker w/ red mustache, red nape stripe, & red wing-linings.
Would someone like to comment on the rarity, or not, of these birds?
The "hybrid" I have seen before on a couple of occasions.
Thanks, Kit Dieffenbach -- Seattle
