Hey Tweeters,
About an hour ago I had a WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH foraging in the
Douglas-firs surrounding my yard. I heard it calling earlier this morning,
but wasn't able to make visual confirmation until now. The first I've seen in
w Washington outside of the Ridgefield NWR population. Also, a pair of Red
Crossbills have been coming to the birdbath several times a day, as has a
nice male Purple Finch. Had an Orange-crowned Warbler yesterday, and at least
three Rufous Hummingbirds have been visiting daily for several weeks. Good
birding!
