Hi-

Hepatic Piranga sounds a little too much like a liver disorder to me, but I
like the tanager-grosbeak concept.

HI ALL:
There has been recent DNA studies published that put our Piranga tanagers
(western, scarlet, summer, and hepatic) in with the family Cardinalidae
(most closely to the genus Pheucticus (Grosbeaks)). So the AOU Checklist
committee might be pondering an English name change for the group. I came
up with these two:
1) Western, Scarlet, Summer, and Hepatic Piranga
2) " " Tanager-Grosbeak

any comments??
