Tweeters,

On the subject of geese and ospreys, here is a good example of what I
was referring to a few days ago: Ospreys finding Canada Geese in their
old nest and building a new one, rather than trying to dispossess the
geese.

Annacis Island is one of the 4 main islands in the Fraser River delta,
located in Delta, BC.

> Hi

> Last year I reported an Osprey nest in the Fraser at the west
end of Annacis Island..I went down today to see if they returned and
saw their nest was taken over by Canada Geese. I was wondering what
would happen when the Osprey returned. Would they chase the geese out
and reclaim the nest. I didn't have to wonder long as an Osprey
showed up with a twig and landed on the adjacent piling and added it
to a small collection of other twigs they had collected. They had
decided to build a new nest instead of fighting for their old one.
