I received an e-mail from Taylor Sullivan alerting me to a large
gathering of BALD EAGLES at Vancouver Lake, in Clark County, he said that
he had counted twenty in one spot. Today (Monday, April 16th) I drove
down to check on them and found nineteen immature birds perched on the
ground and in the trees around the first body of water on the right after
passing the stoplight on 4th Plain Boulevard and Fruit Valley Road. They
are apparently feeding on carp that have come into the flood fields.
Further down Lower River Road I encountered three more BALD EAGLES near
Post Office Lake where there were twelve GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and
a male EURASIAN WIGEON.
