Subject: Where are Cassin's Finches?

I'm curious about what people know the location of Cassin's Finches
in the early spring. Museum specimens and the Pyle ID guide suggest
that they show up in the breeding season with freshly molted head
feathers yet I don't see them and don't hear about others seeing them
between March and May, just when they're supposed to be molting these
feathers. Where do they go to molt? Any observations or ideas?
Dan
