I've heard the same thing about email letters. They get little attention
because they are so easy to forward. In fact, type-written letters (the old
'standard') get less attention than hand-written letters because computers
make typed duplicates so easy. I guess that assumes one has legible
handwriting.

Other tips for getting your opinion letter noticed by your congressman:
Keep it short (one page or less, including all the stuff on top)
Keep it to one topic
Keep it coherent
Speell evry thing corektly and use :corekt grammar,and punctuation
Fill the envelope with white powder (No, really, officer, that was a joke.
Yes, sir, I'm coming out with both hands in plain sight.)
