Natalie and I plan to venture to Bowerman Basin and other Grays Harbor
sites this weekend, hoping to catch an early morning peek at migrating
shorebirds one week ahead of the Grays Harbor Shorebird Festival next
weekend. Is anyone else watching for a surge of shorebirds in Grays
Harbor? Are the numbers of shorebirds rising yet? Or are we likely to get
skunked early Sunday morning, when we rise and drive south to get there
before the 8:23 a.m. high tide?

We're hoping to get some photos and research done for a book project this
weekend, and we cannot wait to join the crowds watching shorebirds at the
festival next weekend, since we will be busy signing and selling copies
of our Olympic Peninsula book at the festival headquarters...
