This afternoon while coming from the Vancouver Mall, a GREEN HERON flew in
front of the car, through all the traffic and landed in the little pond next
to the Red Robin. This man made pond is good for American Wigeon in the
winter and right now a pair of MALLARDS are using it along with a few
RED-WINGED BLACKBIRDS. There isn't a lot of cover there so we thought it a
bit strange. Unfortunately, we were in the flow of traffic and no way to
turn around and go back.
