Having done some point counts with People for Puget
Sound this past weekend, I thought the observations
later in the week to be spot on. I am brand new to
Tweeters in the past 2 days, so please don't chastise
me for not posting this info earlier. Here is the gist
of what we recorded on Sunday, 4/14:
White-crowned Sparrows have taken over T-105, and are
singing incessantly. Three adult Bald Eagles were
seen flying near the T-105 nest (just west of Marginal
Way), and two of those were seen perched in the nest
tree. The Peregrine Falcon was seen flying
over T-105. Later, we saw a Peregrine sitting in a
nesting box underneath the West Seattle Freeway
Bridge. Perhaps these are the same bird. The
Osprey was on the nest between T-105 and Puget Creek,
and later we got great views of it as it flew directly
over us at the GSA Marsh. Adding the Red-tailed Hawk
seen soon after, we had a four raptor morning. The
male
Anna's Hummingbird was seen feeding on the
Red-flowering Currant at GSA!
The three Caspian Terns were hanging out with a flock
of Ring-billed Gulls on the mud flats of Kellogg
Island.
