This morning I have a beautiful adult male California Quail foraging outside
my abode along with two Fox Sparrows, a Spotted Towhee and a squirrel. The
quail seemed quite comfortable with the squirrel as they both searched the
ground for munchies.

I have been adding cracked corn to the seed I put out. The Chestnut-backed
Chickadees (sometimes 4 visit at a time) seem to like the corn! I'm over 25
species for my feeding area now (since January); last week a female Red
Crossbill visited the balcony feeder - a lifer for me!
