Hello Tweeters,
I dont know how i had the strenght to go around Nisqally today. But after the long drive on Saturday getting all stiff,i sure needed to get exercize.
We started out real good right in front on the new designed wetlands. And as Dennis Paulson mention in his message this ponds are looking good to attract lot's of species of Shorbirds, and this all right in front in case you dopnt want to walk the whole refuge.Seeing the vegetation planted around the pond,we can maybe attract a "RUFF"there. We lost our good pond for rareties on Damon Point pond what is now a saltwater Pond and been having verry few Shorebirds since this happen. This is the first time in a long time, that i visit, but i will keep my eye on this ponds during migration.I love Shorebirds, it's fascinating to watch this bird in flightsynchronize in there turns so close together but never hit onother bird. Also when there start flying of,there usual comming back where you watch them again. We had the Shorebirds right in front ,so you could realy study there plumage what is easy now because most birds was all in breeding plumage.
