Well, I sent this a few days ago but I put the wrong address in...so someone
somewhere is wondering why I sent them bird lists. Gotta love this medium.
Anyways, here's my belated bird reports from last week (p.s. if anyone's
interested in birding somewhere let me know as I'm without car...long story
which I can relate on the way):

LUHR BEACH, OLYMPIA w/Kristin Stewart
1 EARED GREBE (still in basic pl.)
6 Horned Grebe
100+ Brant (seem to be piling up)
5 W/W Scoters (way way out)
3 Bald Eagles (1 imm.)
10 Caspian Terns
3 Varied Thrush
NISQUALLY NWR
22 GREATER-WHITE FRONTED GEESE
2 Wood Ducks
2 Greater Scaup (these two have been in the Hdqtrs pond for a while now)
1 Adult GREAT HORNED OWL w/ 2 fledged youngsters
3 Rufous Hummers (1 fem.)
2 Northern Rough-winged Swallows
4 Brown Creepers (1 feeding another on a tree trunk)
20+ Y/R Warblers (4:1 Myrtle:Audubon)
3 COMMON YELLOWTHROATS
APRIL 19, 2002 OAK ST AND FAIRVIEW IN NE OLYMPIA
1 WHITE-THROATED SPARROW (singing a chickadee-like "phoebe" song, rather
than the usual "old sam...")
1 LINCOLN'S SPARROW
APRIL 20, 2002 SAME LOCATION AS ABOVE
2 HERMIT THRUSH (actively feeding about 20 feet up in flowering trees)
1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER (I'm starting to see this species on every trip
out, making me think they have "arrived")
