On April 22, there was a large movement of ORANGE-CROWNED,
YELLOW-RUMPED, and TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS through our property on Mt.
Pleasant, Skamania County. Most of the birds showed up after I had left
to attend a Clark County Parks Advisory Board Meeting. According to my
wife there were several hundred birds visible in the trees around our
home at about 5 pm. They were accompanied by large numbers of
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS.
As I drove past the Steigerwald Lake Refuge, in Clark County, I
noted 2 WESTERN KINGBIRDS on the fence lines there.
This morning on April 23, only a few dozen Golden-crowned
Sparrows are lingering around our feeders and just a few warblers are
moving through although the first BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS of the year for
our place did show up.
