Hi Tweets:
I was talking on the phone this morning around 10am when a flock of
shorebirds flew over my house, east to west ahead of the rising tide on the
bay. I estimate close to 1000 just in that mixed flock. If you want to see a
real treat, hang out on the beach at Ocean Shores about 2 hrs before the
high tide and watch as the shorebirds stream right down the beach access
roads from the bay side to the beach. I live just off the Ocean Lake Way
access road, so that is the beach of choice for me. I have seen this event
many times.

Also, early this morning just after sunrise, I saw 38-40 Marbled Godwit
among a flock of mixed Dunlin and Western Sandpipers...about 1 mile south of
Conner Creek in the Copalis Beach area of Grays Harbor County. For those
who appreciate beauty other than birds, there was a touch of frost lining
the edge of the wind-blown dunes. It was shining in the rising sun and was
just gorgeous!
