Sorry I missed inquiry about Cassins' -- there's a good picture of a Cassin's
(winter female or first-winter male) in the April "Birding". We have Purple
Finches coming to a feeder just outside a kitchen window but, boy!, does that
picture look like a Purple female or what!! One despairs. Murray
