Saw that there'd been some concern that Bowerman didn't have many birds.
Thought you might be interested in this from the NWR folks....

Hello All,

It's that time of year again and I know that everyone is anxiously awaiting
the arrival of the shorebirds. Here is the first update of the season. The
numbers are growing but we are still awaiting for the big influx.

23 April 2002

Grays Harbor National Wildlife Refuge
700 Dunlin
100 Western Sandpipers
95 Semipalmated Sandpipers
5 Black-bellied Plovers

Bottle Beach
No official count, but approximately 3500 shorebirds observed while
conducting ground tracking for radio-tagged birds.

There should be good numbers by this weekend for our shorebird festival
(let's keep our fingers crossed!).
