Tweeters, I won't go on about all the birds my friend Keith Messer and I
saw, since we all saw the same ones for the most part, if hitting Brady Loop
and Bottle Beach. But I did want to make a note on the fact that if you
enter Brady Loop on the east road, and go right, you end up with a mix of
fir and alders, where many many times I have found large flocks of Evening
Grosbeaks. Sunday they were in the first set of alder trees on the left,
maybe 30 of them, very noisy and altho hard to spot, a delight for those who
miss out on their winter meanderings. It is also a good place to sit and
learn their calls and funny scrambled noises they make while feeding. Its so
easy to miss them flying overhead if you don't know these sounds!!!! Brady
was a great spot, Bottle Beach Full of wonderful birds, and a good number of
Red Knots. On the way back we hit Keys Road and turned left to check out
Wenzel(?) Slough, nice ponds, full of good things. Missed the Phalaropes
mentioned to us earlier.......Happy Birding to all! Vicki Biltz Bonney Lake
