Most reports this past week were of expected migrants-everyone seems excited
to get our summer friends back again.

A COMMON GRACKLE was in Okanagon Co WA on 25 Apr according to Scott Ray. The
bird was in a large flock of Brewer's Blackbirds along US 97, just south of
the Monse Bridge, about 6 miles northeast of Brewster. WA DeLorme 100, C-3.

An adult, male PURPLE MARTIN was seen flying over Potholes Reservoir near
Moses Lake, Grant Co WA on 23 April by Charlie Wright. Charlie saw it from
the MarDon Resort. WA DeLorme 53 and 69.

A most likely first Latah Co ID record, a GREAT EGRET is persisting in the
new arboretum on the University of Idaho campus. First seen on 27 Apr by
Alli Snaethorsson, the bird was still present late this afternoon, slurping
goldfish. The arboretum is just east of the UI golf course, and south of the
Kibbie Dome.

At McNary Park below the McNary Dam at Umatilla Umatilla Co OR, Craig and
Judy Corder found a GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW, a FOX SPARROW, and a LINCOLN'S
SPARROW on 27 Apr, along with some other nice migrants. The dam can be
accessed from US 730 on the Oregon side. OR DeLorme 85, A-7, and WA DeLorme
29, A-6.

A ROSS'S GOOSE was at Mann Lake, Nez Perce Co ID on 27 Apr according to
Charles Swift. Also at the lake were 3 BLACK-NECKED STILTS. The reservoir is
about 5 miles east of the Lewiston Orchards along Powers Avenue. ID DeLorme
54, A-1.
