All my files for the past three months have been inadvertently deleted. So
it's impossible to thank individually those of you, both here and on OBOL,
who were kind enough to answer my earlier letter about friends with a robin.
This bird kept attacking its reflection in their front window, despite
various efforts to prevent it.

The friends, after pasting the silhoutte of a small hawk on the window, and
after putting a full-sized picture of a goshawk close to it, decided to hang
a canvas tarp outside the window. This worked just fine until the robin
apparently remembered the enemy behind the tarp and managed to get there to
seek it out! The tarp is now taped tightly over the window, preventing my
friends from viewing their lovely front yard, just when the flowers are at
their peak. But at least they no longer hear the sound of bird hitting
glass.

I want to thank all of you for your ideas, the best of which contained a
nice recipe for robin, if all else failed. My friends were on the verge of
getting the ingredients ready when the window attacks ceased.
