In a late report for April 28th, a GREEN HERON was at the pond at Ambleside
Park, North Vancouver.

Sightings for Monday, April 29th

At the tip of the Iona South Jetty was a PARASITIC JAEGER and 20 COMMON
TERNS. Also at Iona was a SEMI-PALMATED SANDPIPER. Large numbers of
migrating loons were also noted here.

At Blackie's Spit were 5 MARBLED GODWITS and a WHIMBREL.

Sunday, April 28th

In the morning and again in the afternoon, at the northeast pond at Iona, a
breeding plumaged HUDSONIAN GODWIT was seen by several observers.

At Blackie's Spit were a MARBLED GODWIT and a WHIMBREL.

There were 2 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS at Whytecliff Park, West Vancouver.

At Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park, a TURKEY VULTURE was seen overhead. Another
2 TURKEY VULTURES were seen at 141st Street and 102nd Avenue in Surrey.

At the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex was a female MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD. There
were also 18 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE on Burnaby Lake.

A CHIPPING SPARROW was seen in Abbotsford on Whatcom Road 1 kilometer south
of Vye Rd. Also on Whatcom Road at 1.3 kilometers south of Vye Road was a
SWAINSON'S THRUSH. 3 GREEN HERONS were seen, 1 at Willband Creek Park in
Abbotsford, 1 at Matsqui Trail Regional Park, and 1 at the Northwest Langley
Sewage Plant. Nearby were 2 BULLOCK'S ORIOLES, 1 at River Road near the
intersection of Bradner Road, Abbotsford and 1 at Brydon Lagoon in Langley,
1 male YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD along Farm Rd. in Hatzic east of Mission) and
2 AMERICAN BITTERNS at Dale Rd. in Hatzic.

Saturday, April 27th

Flying quickly over Farmer's Slough at Blackie's Spit, South Surrey was a
bird fitting the description of a WHITE-TAILED KITE. Confirmation of this
bird is appreciated. Also in South Surrey, at the turf farm near 8th Avenue
and 176th Street were upwards of 170 WHIMBRELS. At ?Semi-trail? Pond were a
pair of RING-NECKED DUCKS.

A LONG-BILLED CURLEW was seen off Neaves Road about 2 kilometers north of
Dewdney Trunk Road.

An outing to DeBouville Slough produced 1 TURKEY VULTURE, 7 OSPREYS, 1
TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE and a TRUMPETER SWAN.

At Camosun Bog in Vancouver was an ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD.

At Maplewood flats in the east field were 2 AMERICAN AVOCETS while at West
Vancouver's Lighthouse Park, there was a PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER.

At The Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty Compensation Lagoon were 2 BLACK
OYSTERCATCHERS.

At Burnaby Lake were 16 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE.
