We had a female LAZULI BUNTING visit our feeders early yesterday here in n.
Lake Stevens, a notable first for us on a weekend when the cool weather
brought more visitors than usual. Lazulis seem to be seldomly reported in
wWA after July. Other than the usual chickadees, Song Sparrows and towhees,
we also have a nice family group of 3 Black-headed Grosbeaks visiting
regularly.

Otherwise of note were 2 BLACK and 4 VAUX'S SWIFTS (we don't get alot of
either) at the edge of the clouds overhead yesterday. On Saturday, we also
had 8 Cliff Swallows come by, another species that only comes in small
numbers to us. The summer residents are getting quieter: our numerous
Swainson's Thrushes have just about stopped singing, reducing down to "whit"
notes.
