I think that you all are failing to also take into account that thinner
atmosphere translates into less oxygen, which also impacts the overall
efficiency of the bird. (Otherwise jets would operate at a higher
altitude than they do). There is more than one variable here to take into
account. Perhaps there is a grad student looking for a thesis? Maybe a
grant should be written to study this, as there has got to be some
benefit to the military.....
