Cloud cover, no wind and few people made for good birding on Saturday at
Nisqually NWR. Willow Flycatchers were everywhere; warblers were singing and
an American Kestrel standing on a post at eye-level, about 40 feet away, made
for a fabulous look.

On Thursday, at Bellevue's Lake Hills Greenbelt, there was a Solitary
Sandpiper in the wetlands by the boardwalk. A Virginia Rail busily probed the
mud, giving everyone on East Lake Washington Audubon's field trip lots of
time to view the Rail. These were two of the 27 species seen at LHG.
