On August 12, my mother-in-law called us to say that she had
seen a long-legged sandpiper standing on the gate post at my
sister-in-law's driveway about one mile north of the intersection of Deno
and Hayford Roads in Spokane. Maybe my search for the Upland Sandpiper
ended prematurely.
