Subject: Franklin's Gull is back

The Franklin's Gull was back at the Hoquiam STP this morning at 10:45.
Parked my car on the side of the road looked at the pond and right next to
me about 10 feet from shore was the gull. Wish twitching was always that
easy. :)

It's very small and dark and can be easy to miss so if you come down to
look for it carefully scan the water. Even with the bird so close I lost it
for a moment when I went to put my scope on it. It's plumage is similar to
the juvenile plumage labeled in Sibley's.

Saw 3 Baird's along with a number of Westerns Sandpipers, Dowitchers,
Semi-palmated Plovers, Killdeer, and a Willet.
