Hello Tweets,

Today my mother and I checked on the continuing shorebird migration at Ocean
Shores and vicinity, which greatly appears to be very minimal currently
compared to recent and past visits with very low numbers of shorebirds noted
at several keys areas, including the beach shoreline between Driftwood Drive
and Marine View Drive. It appears shorebird migration has slowed down at all
the areas we visited throughout the general Ocean Shores area, but small
numbers do remain and at other locations too. Overall we encountered low
numbers of shorebirds at Ocean Shores, but diversity and numbers remained
good at the Hoquim STP during two visits during the day, which included a
remaining flock of 25 LONG-BILLED CURLEWS with a single Whimbrel, of the 54
noted on the 15th(on the exposed shoreline bordering Grays Harbor
immediately south of the main sewage pond), 4 remaining juvenile
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 1 remaining Pectoral Sandpiper, and our first 2 Mew
Gulls of the season with 2 adult birds noted within the active sewage
settling ponds. A list of our general highlights for the day include:
