Hi folks,
The Rocky Point Bird Observatory did it again today with Victoria's first
NORTHERN PARULA (second record for Vancouver Island and only third for BC!).
One record in Vancouver in June '94, and another in Port Alberni back in
November '96 (I missed that one by a day!).

Today's bird was an adult female caught in Net #3 and photographed for
record books. My, parulas are small warblers!

Gorgeous!...Stupendous!...Awesome!...Wow! Two weeks ago a Blue-gray
Gnatcatcher and now this?!

Get out there folks -- in spite of clear weather, good stuff is about!

276 species and counting...plus 92 species mist-netted total -- 155 on site
year list. At this pace, you all be invited to our #300 party in about five
or six years!!
