A little late, but still . . . I had one western tanager through the yard
last Sunday, then another one on Thursday. This is the first year they
haven't nested in the immediate area, a wooded ravine that runs some
distance. Actually, I have hardly heard a tanager, locally, all summer.
Kind of sad.
