Wednesday, November 27, 5:00 PM; This is ????(sorry, could not understand
name), reporting on a bried trip to Discovery Park at lunchtime. There were
3 ANCIENT MURRELETS off the lighthouse, and there was a NORTHERN SHRIKE near
the south car parking lot in the fields below there.

Friday, November 29, 3:10 PM; Hi, Steve Mlodinow; today at the Two Rivers
Wildlife Management Area, near Monroe, I had a HARRIS?S SPARROW, a
WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, 3 SLATE-COLORED JUNCOS, and a SLATE-COLORED FOX
SPARROW. To reach these birds, go to the north parking lot for the
wildlife managemant area which is off Tualco Lp road, walk down the gravel
rd, out of the parking lot, turn left where it crosses a small slough. After
crossing the slough, you reach a field, go left along the edge of the field.
At the corner of the field was the Harris?s Sparrow and Slate-colored Fox
Sparrow; further down, following the same edge of the field you will come the
where the White-throated Sparrow was. Overall, there were about 4-500
sparrows and juncos there. Thats it and good birding.

Saturday, November 30, 8:46 PM; Hi, this is Steve Mlodinow, today Dennis
Duffy and I birded the Ridgefield/Vancouver Lake area. We had 2
RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, one being an immature bird at the Carty Unit, found by
decending shortly down the hill toward the pond. The other was along the
River ?S? Unit Drive, in the woods, a short distance past the photo blind
parking area in the trees. This is close to where the BLACK PHOEBE has been
reported lately, but we could not relocate it today. ALso at the River ?S?
Unit was an impressive concentration of RED-TAILED HAWKS (30 or so), mostly
on the far end of the loop. We were unable to find anything resembling a
Ferruginous Hawk which has been reported there for the past couple of weeks.
We did have a HARLAN?S HAWK and a couple of ROUGH-LEGS. Between Vancouver
Lake and Post Office Lake we had 3 male TRI-COLORED BLACKBIRDS and a female
RUSTY BLACKBIRD in the blackbird flock numbering 1-2000 birds. Also in a
drying pond heading toward Vancouver Lake, on the right side of the road,
there were 43 GREAT EGRETS. Thats all and good birding.
